Website design

Web design in Lisbon, Portugal.

Your website should make your business understandable and give visitors a clear next step. I plan and design websites for professional service businesses, B2B firms, and brands. From page structure to typography and mobile layouts, the work is shaped around your content and customers. I’m based in Lisbon and work with clients worldwide.

Understand what the website needs to do.

We start with your services, audience, and the actions that matter to your business. I review any existing website, useful content, and recurring customer questions. This helps define the pages you need and what should appear on them. The design brief becomes a practical set of priorities that guides later decisions.

Give the content a clear structure.

A visitor should be able to understand where to find relevant information without working through an unclear menu. I plan navigation, page hierarchy, and content order around the way your customers compare services and make decisions. Clear headings, useful supporting details, and a focused next step give each important page a purpose.

  • Page structure and navigation
  • Content priorities and page layouts
  • Visual direction and typography
  • Responsive layouts and enquiry paths

Design around the material you have.

The available copy, photography, branding, and project examples shape the layouts. I identify gaps early so you know what needs to be supplied or developed. Images and design elements should support the message and the readability of the page. We agree the visual direction before extending it across the website.

Consider small screens from the start.

A desktop layout needs a considered mobile version, especially for navigation, long headings, forms, and detailed content. I review the hierarchy and spacing on smaller screens instead of leaving those decisions until implementation is complete. The aim is an understandable page with controls that people can use comfortably.

Review the design before building.

You review the proposed structure and layouts so we can resolve important questions early. Feedback is considered against the brief, audience, and practical website requirements. We agree the design direction and identify what needs further development. This gives implementation a clear starting point and reduces avoidable changes later in the build.

Prepare the design for WordPress development.

If I am implementing the website, we connect the approved layouts to a suitable WordPress setup. The required editing workflow, plugins, and integrations are reviewed alongside the design. Design planning and implementation are related stages, but they have different decisions to resolve. The WordPress development service covers the build, testing, and handover.

Work with a designer who understands implementation.

I’m Bassey, a freelance designer and developer with 8+ years of experience across 75+ client websites. I work directly with business owners and agencies, so design feedback goes to the person shaping the finished website. The design scope can cover a complete new site or selected pages that need a clearer structure.

BEFORE WE START

Your questions, answered.

Is web design the same as WordPress development?

Design covers the page structure, visual direction, and responsive layouts. Development turns the agreed design into a functioning website. We can scope both stages together or identify the design work required before implementation.

Can you design a website around my existing brand?

Yes. We review your logo, colours, typography, and other available material before agreeing the visual direction. If assets are missing or inconsistent, we identify what needs to be resolved as part of the brief.

Do I need all my website copy ready first?

We need enough information to understand the services, audience, and required pages. Final content readiness is then considered when agreeing the design and build schedule. Content gaps are identified early.

Can you improve just a few pages?

Yes. A focused design scope can cover specific service pages, landing pages, or parts of the visitor journey. I review how those changes will fit the existing website before proposing the work.

Will the design work on mobile?

Responsive layouts are part of the agreed website design. We consider navigation, spacing, content order, and important controls on smaller screens, then check the implementation when the pages are built.
