Website page speed optimisation
A slow page can delay the message, leave visitors waiting, and make everyday actions feel harder. I review what is slowing your WordPress website and make targeted changes to the agreed pages. The work starts with the actual build, including its images, fonts, scripts, plugins, and hosting configuration.
We identify representative pages, such as the homepage, a service page, or a shop checkout. I record the test conditions and review the loading sequence before making changes. PageSpeed Insights and browser tools help identify issues; available real-user data adds context to those laboratory tests.
Large images, unused scripts, and unnecessary font files can add work before a page is ready. I review responsive image delivery, loading priorities, and the assets each page needs. Important images should appear promptly, while lower-page content can load when it is needed.
Optimisation needs to account for menus, forms, sliders, and checkout behaviour. I check the agreed features after changes and avoid applying blanket settings without reviewing their effect. Some delays come from external services or hosting limits, which may require changes beyond the page itself.
I retest the agreed pages using comparable device and network settings and explain the changes made. A score is a diagnostic summary, not a revenue forecast. Core Web Vitals describe loading, responsiveness, and visual stability; improvements should also make sense in the way people use the site.
Loading is only part of how a website feels. I also review whether menus and other controls respond clearly and whether the layout shifts as images or fonts appear. Reserving the right space for an image, reducing unnecessary scripts, and loading important content in the right order can address different causes. The diagnosis needs to match the behaviour of the page. A large screenshot gallery and a checkout with external services do not need identical optimisation settings.
Tell me which pages or actions feel slow and which features must stay in place. Existing reports are useful, but they need the URL, date, device, and test context to be interpreted properly. I separate changes that can be made in the website from dependencies on hosting or third-party services. The result is a defined list of improvements and checks. I also explain what remains outside that scope, so the handover provides a useful record rather than a score without an explanation.
On 12 October 2026, a PageSpeed Insights lab test of this portfolio returned 98 for mobile performance and 100 for desktop performance. The mobile test recorded a Largest Contentful Paint of 1.9 seconds, with no layout shift. The work included responsive image delivery, reducing unnecessary scripts, and improving how the page styles load.
These are results from one lab run of my own website. Scores vary with the test and the website, and this does not establish real-user Core Web Vitals or predict the result for a client project.

BEFORE WE START
No. Results depend on the page, hosting, integrations, and the test conditions. I identify the issues within scope, make appropriate changes, and compare the result using a consistent test approach.
Yes. I review its layouts, images, fonts, widgets, and scripts before choosing changes. Important features are checked afterwards, and the existing design is considered when deciding what can be simplified.
Changes are agreed around the website’s needs. Some effects can be made lighter; others may need a simpler approach. I explain the trade-offs before removing a feature that matters to the user experience.
Device capabilities, screen size, network conditions, and the assets selected by the browser can differ. I review the mobile experience separately instead of assuming a strong desktop result covers it.
Performance is one part of the website experience and can support search work. It does not replace useful content, clear site structure, or relevant links. Broader search issues belong in the WordPress SEO review.
